FOSTER, CLAUDE VINCENT "FOX" "BEAU" An avid hunter and fisherman who cherished the outdoors, he died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at his residence with his beloved family by his side. Born July 22, 1915, he was 89, a native of Morrow and a resident of Donaldsonville for 56 years.
In his early career, he worked in the lumber industry and was a skilled saw filer by trade. This trade became a home-based business known as Foster's Saw Shop for many years thereafter. He later retired from the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District. He was a former member of the Burton and McCall hunting clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ella Antie Foster; daughters and sons-in-law, Frankie and Lyle Schexnaydre, Bobbie Blanchard, Debbie and Craig Schexnaydre, Vickie and Brian "Boozie" Andermann and Cathy Gautreaux; sister, Dorothy Foster Kneipp, Keithville; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Freeman and Arsenne Lacombe Foster; daughter, Doris Foster Gaspard Gilbert; grandchildren, Tab Schexnaydre and Dana Andermann; great-grandchild, Beau Porto; sisters, Daisy Foster Hachney, Mildred Foster Carter and Virgie Foster Wilson; and brothers, George Wellingtron "Son", John Alston "Pete", Albert C. "Tooter" and Carl Cody "Totsy" Foster.
Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, 134 Houmas St., Donaldsonville, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15., and 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Saturday Entombment in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum.
