He honorably served his country in the United State Navy during WWII and retired from RCA. Don and his late wife Betty spent their summers in St. Petersburg, Florida. He enjoyed spending all his time outside working in the yard and staying busy. He was a devoted and loving family man, and his family was his number one priority.
He leaves behind his daughters, Diana Smith (Kenny) and Carol Stephens (Mike); grandchildren, Brian Smith (April), Erica Henderson (Michael), Amber Worden (Greg), Brandy Mason (Travis), Kourtney Allen, and Karli Raynor; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and siblings, Joanne Miller and Danny Matthews (Jan).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Matthews; daughter, Susan Kutche; and 3 siblings, Margie, Bob and Tim Matthews.
He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East.
