Doyline, LA – Funeral services for Betty Fritz Booth, 83, of Doyline, LA, will be at 1:30 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Westlake Baptist Church of Doyline. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 1:30 pm before the service. Graveside service will follow in the cemetery behind the church. Officiating will be Reverend Michael Sanders and Reverend Mike Igo. Arrangements by Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Minden, LA, (318) 377-3412
Betty was born in Minden, LA, on September 24, 1936 to William T. and Aubyn McDow Fritz. She treasured her memories growing up in Minden, LA. When she was 16 years old, she met the love of her life, Albert Booth, married him and became a navy wife taking her on a life path journey living in Charleston, SC, Key West, FL, Long Beach, CA, Panama City, FL, Norman, OK and Yokosuka, Japan. During these years, she worked as a secretary for the U. S. Government. When Albert retired, they moved back to Doyline where Betty worked in the Purchasing Department at the Louisiana Army Ammunitions Plant until she retired.
Albert, her mother, and friends would tell you that in her spare time, Betty enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed going with Albert and friends when they played and sang old time religious songs to/with groups in the community.
As an active member of Westlake Baptist Church of Doyline. Betty was a trusting, loyal servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, serving as church organist, Sunday school teacher and treasurer until her health gradually begin to fail her. Teaching children about
Jesus was a joy in her life path. She will be missed by those whose hearts she touched.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Danny and Dennis Booth; brothers, Arnold and Don Fritz; grandchildren, Jonathan Booth, and Michelle, Barry and Jake McDivitt; great grandchildren, Aubyn, Mattie and Jon Michael McDivitt; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Albert Booth; parents, William T. and Aubyn McDow Fritz; and daughter, Denise Ann McDivitt.
Pallbearers will be Paul Fritz, Joe Booth, Jonathan Booth, and Barry, Jake and Mike McDivitt..
Special thanks to her friend and “Angel” Betty Armstrong for her devotion in helping and caring for Betty over the past 5 years.
