Born November 27, 1946 in Pawtucket, RI she attained bachelors and masters degrees in education from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College. She was married to Marvin E. Bowman from Alliance NE on May 7, 1972 in East Providence RI. She taught elementary school in Pawtucket RI from 1968 until 1974 and from 1976 until 1982 at The Calverton School in Huntingtown MD.
Surviving are her husband Marvin and son Daniel of Lusby, daughter Alicia of Orlando FL, her mother Anna Tait of Rumford RI, sister Pamela Christman and brother Robert Henry Tait both of Rehoboth, MA. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Emmett Tait.
She enjoyed sewing, machine embroidery, quilting, gardening, reading, and playing bridge. She was an active member of the Patuxent River Quilters Guild and the Pfaff sewing Club in Lexington Park. Prior to her illness she provided assistance to her children's schools, Campfire group, and Boy Scouts. She also participated in the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Family Association and assisted in their support of the plant blood drives and emergency planning exercises.
Memorial services were held April 28 at the Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic with Chaplin William Davis of Calvert Hospice officiating. Funeral services were held May 2 at St. Michaels & Grace Church in East Providence RI with burial at the Lakeside Cemetery in East Providence.
