91, Brownsburg, formerly of Wanamaker, passed away October 20, 2019. He had worked at
Naval Avionics and was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1950-52. He was a past member of
the Franklin Township Lion’s Club and the Franklin Central Christian Church, where he served
as an elder. He is a member of Hope Community Church, Brownsburg. His most important
legacy was his life long faith in Jesus and the family he loved. He was also a prolific
woodworker, leaving beautiful pieces of his work in churches and homes of family and friends all
over the country. He loved to fish with whoever found time to fish with him. He met the love of
his life singing a solo in a little country church in the hills of Indiana. He led music all his life in
churches, in homes, and with his family around the piano. He enjoyed playing his harmonica,
even the last few weeks of his life. He always found a way to serve wherever he lived. He never
lost his purpose as a servant of God. His green thumb amazed everyone, growing vegetables,
fruits and even orchids. His wife of 60 years, Shirley R Bartle, preceded him in death in 2010.
