OLD TOWN—Joseph Edmund McLeod, 70, passed away November 3, 2018. He was born in Bangor, the only child of Clarence and Katheryn (Ellingwood) McLeod.
Joe, a lifelong resident of Old Town, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from July 31, 1967 to May 2, 1970, and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat action in Vietnam as well as the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V. An avid fisherman, he would make the trek to Chamberlain Lake though out the spring, fall, and winter chasing the fish that got away. During the summer months when not working on his current home improvement projects, Joe would be found watching the Red Sox.
Joe, a welder by trade, retired from the Old Town paper mill.
Joe will forever and lovingly be remembered by his wife of 46 years Linda, son Fredrick and his wife Amanda and granddaughter Anastasia, and will be missed by a special canine companion, Ali. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call 4-6PM Thursday November 15, 2018 at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where a funeral service will be conducted 2PM Friday.
