Bobby Leon Angel was born on October 17, 1935 in Carthage, Tennessee, the son of Floyd Leon Angel (1903–1980) and Lena Mai (Thomas) Angel (1914–2000).

He was married to Ellen Frances Burgess (1938–2009), the daughter of Carmack Burgess and Laura (Brown) Burgess.

Bobby served in the US Marine Corps and the US Army. After he retired from the US Postal Service, he worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department as a court room officer.

Living in Clarksville, he was 83 years old when he passed away on October 16, 2019 at Alive Hospice Residence.

He was preceded in death by parents, his wife, daughter Dana Lynne (Angel) Stokes, brothers James Angel and Billy Joe Angel and by his sister Mildred (Angel) Harper. Survivors included a married son in California, a married daughter in Florida, a married brother, two sisters and a brother-in-law, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a special female friend.

Celebration of Life Services were held at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Clarksville.
