11 Jul 2007: Charles I. Armstrong, 84, Ruffsdale, formerly of Harrisburg, died Saturday, June 30, 2007. Born May 16, 1923, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Ira P. and Margaret Deckman Armstrong. He was a member of United Church of God, AIA; was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. Prior to retirement, he was employed by PennDOT as a civil engineer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Armstrong and his sister Margurite Sanderson. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Wilkins) Mayes Armstrong. Memorial service Sunday, July 15, at Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, PA. Private interment Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
