Thelma Jean Brown Baker, 90, widow of Cecil Baker, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Madison Co., Ky., the daughter of the late Leslie and Marie Farthing Brown. She graduated from Madison Central High School in the Class of 1948, married and became and immaculate housekeeper. Through the years, she provided babysitting services for her community and loved and cared for 169 children. She was a talented seamstress who loved to make her own clothes, crochet and work plastic canvas. In her later years, she enjoyed watching television, especially game show. She was a member of Big Hill Christian Church, but recently attended Red House Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Ronnie Brown (Betty), of Richmond; one nephew Greg Brown (June Stephens), of Richmond; one great-niece, McKenzie Brown (Alex Held) and one great- nephew, Trenton Ross.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Russell & Edna Brown.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Johny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Greg Brown, Mike Tipton, Bobby Bucher, Harold Bucher, Curtis Cruse, Harold Ray, Terry Rice and Mitchell Tate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Tipton, Tommy Rice, Danny Turner and Sanford Jones.
