John K. Cahill, 79, of Princeton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning, March 13, 2010, Princeton Community Hospital. John was a graduate of Princeton High School and West Virginia Business College. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force. John was an active member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road in Princeton where he had been a member for 53 years; he had served a Treasurer and was a former Deacon of the church.

In 1991, John Retired as Head Grocery Clerk with the Kroger Company in Princeton with 37 years of service; he also was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. John was a devoted Christian, husband, father and loved to garden and work on the farm. For those who were fortunate to know John, they knew of his love for the WVU Mountaineer, he was an avid fan and supporter.

Born April 4, 1930, in Princeton, he was the son of the late John Tyler Cahill (1894-1984) and Lillian Deaton Caldwell-Cahill (1896-1993). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dena Irene Cahill-Mandeville (1919-1995).

Survivors include his caring wife of 55 years, Sigrid Margarete Weiss-Cahill (1930-2015), his son, Michael K. Cahill & wife Julie L. Cahill of Pittsburgh PA; siblings, George Tyler Cahill (1921-2014) of Roanoke VA, Jessie "Glenn" Cahill (1924-2012) and Mary Ellen Cahill-Meadows (1927-2015), both of Princeton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A service of celebration will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, March 15, 2010 at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road, Princeton with Pastors John King and Jim Simmons officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Church. A private family burial will be held on Tuesday.
