Mrs. Leah Jo Carpenter, 85, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born in Medora to the late William A. and Nellie (Booker) Bush.
Funeral prayer services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, October 21 at 10:30 am with Deacon Mike East officiating.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday from 2-5 pm and Monday from 9 am until time of service. A Rosary service will be held Sunday at 1:30 pm.
On February 6, 1954 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, she married David Carpenter; he preceded her in death on January 24, 2018. She worked as a nurse's aide, Amoco Plastics and was an Avon rep for many years.
Leah is survived by her children, John Carpenter, Terri (Steve) Bobb, Keith Carpenter; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Urbanski, Jessica Payne, Clint (Kelly) Bobb; great-grandchildren, Claire Urbanski, Cael Urbanski, Max Payne, Collin Bobb; sister, Norma Short; sisters-in-law, Dawan Bush, Norma Carpenter, Judy Carpenter as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gerald Bush, Harold Bush, Donald Bush, Bernard Bush, Russell Bush; sisters, Venita McAuliffe, Ruth Fox; daughter-in-law, Joan "Joannie" Carpenter.
Memorials may be written to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Catholic School or Alzheimer's Foundation Research, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
