Jeffery Wilson Holder

Jeffery Wilson Holder, 73, passed from this life on October 9, 2019. He was born
on March 19, 1946, along with his beloved twin brother, John Franklin Holder in Macon, Missouri to George Wilson Holder and Lotus Lorene Carroll Holder. He grew up in Maud, Missouri, and attended school in Clarence, graduating in 1964 from Clarence High School. He joined Bacon Chapel Methodist Church and later was a member of Clarence Christian Church.

On July 16, 1965, he married Virginia Edrington at Clarence Christian Church.

He was a loving father to two children, Cara Lorene Holder Wilt, husband Allan of Shelbina, and David Jeffrey Holder, wife Michelle of Clarence. He was blessed with four grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Stephanie Holder and husband Daniel, Jared, Jeffrey and Jarah Wilt and Andrew Williams and wife Stephanie and Kirsten Williams.

He attended one year at Kirksville State Teachers College in 1964-65.

He joined the Air Force in January, 1967, along with his brother John. They were stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernadino, California, where he was an Aircraft mechanic, and returned to Clarence in January, 1971. He worked at the MaGraw Edison Factory in Clarence, farmed with his father, George, carpentered with Bob Wood and Joe Loft, but spent most of his working life at Diemakers in Monroe City and later Intermet at Palmyra as a Project Engineer.

He served the church as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendant, and elder and enjoyed going early and unlocking the doors and making coffee.

He dearly loved his family and friends and enjoyed going to Hometown Restaurant and drinking coffee or tea and visiting and joking with his friends. He also enjoyed collecting guns and reading gun magazines. He enjoyed his nurses and friends at the Wellness Center in Macon. He also enjoyed drag racing and helping his son, David with his race cars. He loved watching Nascar racing on TV, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals. He could often be seen riding the mower, walking his faithful dog, T.J, and was proud of his grandkids and loved attending their events.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Virginia, of 54 years, his brother and family, his children and families, his nieces and nephews and cousins, his many friends, neighbors, and church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 3 pm at Clarence Christian Church in Clarence, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 12 pm to 3 pm before the service. Burial will be held at the Maplewood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Clarence Christian Church or Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch
