James Coley, passed away Tuesday evening, October 8, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. at the age of 94. He left behind an age-strickened body to receive ultimate healing and to behold the presence of his Lord and Saviour.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army, and was a Prisoner of War. A retired farmer of the Faison area, he worshiped his Lord at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mr. Coley was the son of the late Henry A. and Mary Jones Coley and had been married for 64 years to Audrey Byrd Coley prior her passing.

He is survived by five children, Sue Coley Davis and husband, Larry, of Goldsboro, Peggy Coley of Warsaw, Ann Coley Kelly of Mount Olive, Ruth Coley Jones and husband, Jack, of Dudley, and Jimmy Coley and wife, Sherri, of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren, Nikki Ennis, Rebekah Cox, Melissa Lewis, Ashley Stevens, Brooke Whitfield, Stacy Hadzijahic, Brittney Bradshaw, and Jenny Sasser; fourteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rachel Daniels of Wilmington, Hilda Lindsay of Clinton, Janet Cottle of Goldsboro, and Faye Jackson of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Coley was a good, Godly man who lived a Christian life. This life will be remembered in a service at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church with visitation to follow. A graveside burial service will be Friday, October 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
