OBITUARY
Athens, GA - Barbara Bryant Kyle, widow of George Malcom Kyle, died in Athens, GA, on Monday, July 8, 2019.

Born in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Julian E. and Betty Gray Bryant. Mrs. Kyle was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and a resident of Rolling Green Retirement Village. She was a graduate of George Mason University in Virginia and Central High School in Savannah, TN.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Bryant and Susan Kyle of Athens, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and David Erickson of Cary, NC; a grandson and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her son, George Wesley Kyle, her brother, Bert Bryant and a granddaughter.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at White Sulphur Cemetery in Pickwick Dam State Park, TN, on September 21st at 10 a.m.

Barbara is the daughter of Julian Egbert Sr. and Elizabeth Freeman Gray Bryant. She grew up with one sibling - her brother Julian, Jr.

Barbara attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute and University of Tennessee then later graduated from George Mason University in Virginia where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She married James Alexander Wallace on 16 Apr 1949 in Anderson TN. They had two children - a daughter and a son. Barbara and James later divorced. Around 1952 Barbara married George Malcom Kyle and they had a daughter and 2 sons.

Barbara was a member of DAR and a genealogist, a long time teacher of her Sunday School class. She also loved to do many things with her husband and friends such as Line Dancing which was one of her favorites. Loving, friendly, social and giving - that was our Barbara and she will be missed. Barbara and I were close cousins who had similar interests in family and she was my 1st cousin, 1x rem.
