She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Naomi Tyler Hogue, Harold, Gerald, and J. R. “Joe” Tyler, Jr.
Alice is survived by her husband of 71 years, William Rector Pace and daughter Sharon Pace Gardner, both of Pocahontas, and son Stephen (Lisa) Pace of Jonesboro; grandchildren Dr. Eric Gardner of Germantown, TN, Col. Whitney (Melissa) Gardner of Ft. Rucker, AL, and Rory (Kelly) Gardner, Dr. Riley Pace, and Kadra Pace, all of Memphis, TN; great-grandchildren Grason, Hannah, Emily, Greta, and Jameson Gardner; sister Agnes Tyler Mayberry of Bono; brothers Edward and Glen Tyler of Pocahontas; sister-in-law Loisell Houseman Tyler of Pocahontas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Alice graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1948 and took great pride in being valedictorian of her class. Her family and friends valued her as a superb cook, a talented seamstress, a hard worker, a homemaker, a good neighbor, a loving wife, mother and MaMa, sister, and a godly woman. She was a faithful member of the Noland Church of Christ.
All services will be held at McNabb Funeral Home, Thursday, October 10, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and funeral following at 1:00 p.m. with Joshua Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Chesser Cemetery.
Nephews serving as pallbearers are Jerry Hogue, Dennis Mayberry, Doug, Eugene, Mickey and Randy Tyler.
