On October 30, 1934, hundreds of friends and neighbours gathered at the Wolseley Town Hall for the funeral of Dr. William Elliott. He was a pioneer physician and a former minister of agriculture in the old Territorial Government. He spent 41 years of his life in Wolseley and district. Masonic rites were performed at the graveside.

The graves of Dr. Elliott and his wife Margaret Jane (Carter) Elliott are listed in the Wolseley Cemetery entry of the Saskatchewan Cemetery Project.

"He represented Wolseley from 1905 to 1908 and Moose Mountain from 1908 to 1912 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Provincial Rights Party member."
