Russian Nobility. She was a Russian courtier, princess of Moldavia and hereditary princess of Hesse-Homburg, and an honorary member of the Imperial Russian family. The the daughter of Prince Ivan Trubetskoy and Irina Naryshkina, she married Dimitrie Cantemir in 1717, and 1738 to Landgrave Ludwig Gruno of Hesse-Homburg, a German prince in Russian service. She was also appointed Dame of St Catherine and lady in waiting to Empress Elizabeth. In 1745 she left for Germany and did not return until 1751, after which she became a noted philanthropist. She died at the age of 55.
