ale Lamoine Harrell, 90 of Shirley, passed away September 4, 2019 at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1929 in Elko, Indiana to the late Charles and Laura (Cozad) Harrell.
Lamoine married Virginia (Jasper) Harrell on September 5, 1970 and was one day short of their 49th year anniversary, He operated Lamoine and Charlie's service station in Shirley for 10 years and spent many years in the plumbing and trenching business before retiring from Delco Remy with 30 years of service. He was a life time member of the Shirley Masonic Lodge #531 and the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, was a 20 year member of the Shirley Volunteer Fire Dept, Shirley Historical Society, Octagon House Group, Shirley Lions Club,and the Shirley Methodist Church. Lamoine was the 1994 recipient of the David Estell Civic award for his community services. He was one of the fellow workers that helped build the Shirley Community Shelter house and the Shirley Masonic Lodge
He is survived by his wife Virginia, son, James (Becky) Harrell of Indianapolis and daughter, Judy (Frank) Hilcz of Knightstown; grandchildren, Daniel (Diana) Florea Jr of Hamilton, OH, Dawn Florea of California, Carrie (Chris) Underwood of Greenfield, James (Jenny) Florea of Shirley, David (Heather) Harrell of Indianapolis, John (Leigh) Harrell of Dayton, OH. sister, Barbara Smith of Huntington, IN., eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Margie Sue Jones and granddaughter Shelly Florea, one sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Condo St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory with Pastor Jeff Mair officiating. Masonic service prior to service. Visitation will be from 10 to 1. Burial to follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
