Son of John Starr and Susannah Parker Starr. Born Paris, Edgar, Ill.
Grandson of Elder John Parker and Sarah "Sallie" White Parker.
The Parker's traveled here from Crawford Co, Ill. in a wagon train of various family members and friends in 1833 to then Houston County, Texas to establish a church for the First Protestant Church in Texas, which was then under the rule of Mexico and only Catholic religion.
John and Susannah Parker Starr moved their family to Elkhart, Anderson Co, Texas, arriving on 24 Dec 1848.
His parents were married in Illinois, before traveling to Texas. They had eight known children.
They settled on Tanyard Creek and now called Starr Hill, out of Elkhart, Anderson County. He helped his father on the farm, with the sawmill syrup mill, and cotton gin all in season.
Perry had the following siblings born to his parents.

Married Martha Anjelina Kolb. 21 October, 1863, Anderson County, Texas.
He joined the Confederate States of Texas Army; 17 May 1862, Palestine, Anderson, Texas.
He was placed in Co G, Randal's Reg't, Texas Lancers as a Private. For three years.
He was paroled out of New Orleans, La. by general E.K. Smith, C.S.A., to Major Gen E.R.S. Canby U.S.A., May 26, 1865.
Listed as a prisoner of war.
According to his paper work, he had various furloughs to come home to Elkhart, Texas, during the war.
He and Martha had the following 15 children, only one dying as a baby, the other 14 reached adulthood;

During his lifetime he farmed the land that his father gave him from the tract that he had accumulated.
His granddaughter Esther Camp Stone owned the land later.
Perry E. Camp did purchase part of the land from his sister Esther. After the death of Esther Camp Stone, Perry E. Camp, did received the rest of the property.

Perry Starr did set aside a cemetery on his property. Perry Starr Cemetery.
He, his wife and a lot of his descendants are buried here.

Confederate Marker Dedication on March 17, 2012.
United Daughters of the Confederacy, Davis-Reagan Chapter #2292 Palestine, Texas held a marker dedication on the above date, assisted by the John H. Reagan Camp #2156, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Palestine, Texas.
One special Son of Confederate Veterans, Alan Starr, g-grandson of Pvt. Perry Starr was present with his horse
dressed as riderless horse. Alan is a member of Terry's Texas Rangers, SCV Camp Co. A, 8th Calvary from Tyler, Texas.
A large group of his descendants were present at the memorial.
We were very honored to be able to honor this Confederate Soldier from Texas.
