Mary Nola Brisendine was the 7th of 12 children of Jay D. Bridensine and Mary Elizabeth Marks, who were early pioneers in the Mesquite and Balch Springs area of Dallas County. Her paternal grandparents were Francis Marion and Martha Frances (Coats) Brisendine. Her maternal grandparents were Watts and Docia Delilah (Bennett) Marks. She married Brice B. West on December 10, 1919. She died on December 4, 1960 at the age of 58 years, 6 months and 8 days. The following obituary shows her name as Mary Nora West. Family records show her as Mary Nola.

Tuesday for Mrs. Mary West
Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Mary Nora West, life-long resident of Mesquite and Balch Springs. She died Sunday at the age of 58. / The Reverend LeRoy Castle and the Rev. B. F. Bennett officiated at chapel services, and burial was in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park. / Mrs. West was born in the Balch Springs Community and attended school there. She live most of her life in Mesquite. She married Brice B. West Dec. 10 1919. Mr. West is employed by the City of University Park. / She was a member of the Mesquite Christian Church. / Mrs. West is survived by her husband and six sons, Donald K. West and David West of Mesquite, Melvin West and Loyd West of Dallas, and Marvin L. West and James West of Garland.. / She is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Beth Cross of Dallas and Miss Della Ruth West of Mesquite. She had 12 grandchildren. / Other survivors are six brothers, Arch Brisendine of Garland and Ollie Brisendine , Floyd Brisendine, Forrest Brisendine, Wilmer Brisendine and Jim Brisendine all of Dallas, and two sisters, Mrs. Leora Howell and Mrs. Ruth Howell of Dallas
