Though her passing on September 26, 2019, brings profound sadness to those who knew and loved her, it is her life, one lived with love, humor and faith that will be celebrated on Wednesday.
Linda was born in Clarksville, Tennessee in 1951 to Barbara Jean (Walp) Jones and Robert A. Walp, Sr. After graduating from Clarksville High School in 1969, she met the love of her life, Jack Cunningham. They married on January 3, 1970. Together, Jack and Linda set out on what would become a 50 year adventure with stints living in more than 10 states before making Arizona their final home in 1986.
Linda’s family was her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She was a devout Catholic. Whether preparing family dinners, planning holiday celebrations, caring for her grandchildren, or attending mass, Linda did it all with a kind of care and commitment that was uniquely her own-she was truly one of a kind and to those in her family, a saint.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack, her children and their spouses Tim (Jennifer), Bridget, Tom (Annel), Danny, brother Robert, sister Teresa, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all of whom she adored and admired.
Gifts in memory of Linda can be made to St. Jude Children’s hospital.
Resided in Mesa, Arizona.
Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, Mesa, AZ.
