Louise graduated from John Marshall High School and Westhampton College, where she was elected to Mortar Board and Phi Beta Kappa. She was also President of the Westhampton Student Government and voted "best all around" her senior year. Her love of learning and sharp mind constantly amazed and inspired her family. For many years, she taught the Westhampton College students at First Baptist Church and the women in the circles at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Many treasure the things she made with her skills in sewing, knitting and needlepoint. Her handiwork is seen in the needlepoint kneelers she made for St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Cannon Memorial Chapel at the University of Richmond. Louise was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. For many years, she served on the Altar Guilds of St. Stephen's and Cannon Memorial Chapel. In 1954, she was elected President of the Junior Board of the Virginia Home and was elected to its senior board in 1971. She also served as a council member and docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She was a member of the Woman's Club, the Tuckahoe Woman's Club, and the Country Club of Virginia.
