Rita Poe Harris, 75, passed away September 30, 2019 at Beacon Place.
Rita was born September 1, 1944 in Greensboro, NC to the late Russell and Elaine Poe.
She attended Bethel Presbyterian Church and was an active volunteer with special events. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who never missed a birthday or any special family gathering. She was kind and compassionate and brought joy to her family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Poe.
Survivors include her daughters, Shea Combs (Mark), Lynn Pinnix (Steve), sister, Donna Robbins, grandchildren, Ashley Mendenhall (Ryan), Jacob Pinnix (Jessie), Rachel Wolford (Caleb), Johnny Pinnix (Abby), Mark Combs and Gage Trogdon, as well as great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Payton, Andon, Paisley, Sydney, Grayson, Evan, Noah and Owen.
An 11:00 a.m. graveside service will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel Thursday, October 3 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
