Obituary. Beverly J Barrett, 87, passed away on September 29, 2019, in Sandy, Utah.

She was born on January 10, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Karlos T. Kizerian and Rose Tavoian.

She married William F. Barrett on September 14, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later divorced.

Beverly was an active resident of Sandy City for more than half of her life. She had a great sense of pride in the city and was passionate about serving in her community. While working for Sandy City, nearly three decades she was the first director of the Miss Sandy Pageant and ran the pageant for many years. Beverly also worked for the Mayor's office, City Planning, and spent the most time working with Arts Council as an event coordinator. She was the hostess with the mostest for the Sandy Amphitheater for many years and was proud to dig the first hole at the groundbreaking ceremony. Beverly was a perfectionist in everything she did and took pride in the events she planned. Beverly was passionate about the arts and loved attending the symphony, opera, ballet, musical theater, and art galleries. She loved being involved in politics and loved her country. She would often share with people how her heart would swell with love for the United States of America every time she saw the American flag.

Beverly loved her family and would tell anyone she could how wonderful her children and grandchildren were. Most importantly, she made sure that her children and grandchildren knew how much they were loved. Beverly loved nature. She would express awe at the beauty around her in the mountains, clouds, sunsets, and especially the autumn leaves. Beverly was proud of her Armenian heritage. She made sure that her family knew the stories of where they came from and kept up the traditions of Armenian cooking. In fact, most of her family would agree that she was the best Armenian cook of the family. Beverly was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in her service there. She loved Relief Society, loved the temple, and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. In a nutshell, Beverly loved life and lived it to its fullest.

Beverly is survived by children Carrie (Tim) Ord, Devin (Cathy) Barrett, Melissa (Wayne) Niederhauser, and David (Leslie) Barrett; her grandchildren Cimi Ahluwalia, Will Barrett (Megan), Katie Ard (Jeremy), Christian Niederhauser (Lisa), Sarah Niederhauser, Molly Niederhauser, Ethan Niederhauser, Emma Niederhauser, Braydon Barrett (Kacey), Annixi Huffstutler (Dalin), Colby Barrett, Beau Barrett, and Gabriel Barrett; great grandchildren Lexi, Grayson, Keagan, Jordan, Levi, and Wyatt; siblings Dorothy Anderson and Jerry Kizerian (Mary). Beverly also leaves behind her sweet dog, Angel, who she loved with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Leroy, and her sister, Donna Pexton.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 12:00 noon, located at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, UT 84020. Viewing from 10:30 am – 11:45 am. Interment will be at Sandy City Cemetery, 700 East 9000 South, Sandy, UT, immediately after the service.

Beverly's family would like to thank her hospice team from Harmony Hospice who took care of Beverly at the end. We appreciate Nurse Lisa, Robin, and Shannon for the tender love and care they provided both to her and to us. Hospice Nurses are truly angels on Earth!
