Married Orville Clark Roberts, 24 Jul 1868, Provo, Utah, Utah
Children - Orville Clark Roberts, Harriet Virginia Roberts, Frank Homer Roberts, Don Carlos Roberts, Martha Jane Roberts, Howard Daniel Roberts, Mary Eliza Roberts, Louis Dermont Roberts, Daphane Helena Roberts
Mary came across the plains with her parents Howard and Martha Jane Coray in the John Sharp Company in 1850. Howard was a secretary for Joseph Smith in Nauvoo. Martha helped Lucy Mack Smith write the History of Joseph Smith.
The family moved to Provo when she was 9 in 1857. When she was 16 she taught school and always wore a red rose or red ribbon in her black hair. She had black hair, expressive dark brown eyes and olive complexion and was very pretty. Since her mother was on the first board of directors of BYU she associated with many early well to do families.
After she married Orville Clark Roberts they moved to Mona, Utah. They loved to ride together and debate and dance together. She loved to learn and he often joined her in her search for knowledge.
She had great faith and many times prayed for her sick or injured children and they were healed. She loved to play the organ. In 1880 they moved to Mancos, Colorado where she became Relief Society President. In the winters they would have sleigh rides with the horses Clark kept.
They moved to Jackson, New Mexico where she had to take over earning the money for the family as her husband was crippled with rheumatism. Her and her daughters went out and did laundry for others or picked and dried fruit. She always made work fun and was very close to her children.
