FOREST CITY, Mo. -Mary Frances Plummer, 85, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at the Oregon Care Center.
Mary was born in Craig, Missouri, on May 18, 1934 to Carl and Mady (Bomar) Hayzlett. Mary was a lifelong resident of Holt County.
On Dec. 28, 1952, she married Kenneth D. Plummer. Kenneth passed away in June 1992.
Mary and Kenneth owned and operated Plummer's Cafe; (1962 to 1979) and The Green Kitchen (1971 to 1975) in Forest City.
She was employed at Brown's Memorial Nursing Home (1979 to 1981) and The Forest City Diner (1981 to 1986) as a cook.
Mary became a full-time caregiver for her parents and brother, Curtis (1986 to 2014).
Mary and her son, Kenny, owned and worked together at their Green Thumbs Greenhouse and sold concrete ornaments for many years.
Mary is survived by: her five children and their spouses, Kenneth and Alice Plummer, Carla Adams, Charles "Bill" and Karrilu Plummer, Ladeanna and Thomas Hays, and Allison and Loyd Russell; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, with the 28th arriving in Nov. 2019; sister, Mavis Mackey; brother-in-law, Harvey Noble; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Edwin Adams; great- granddaughter, Daphani Miller; five brothers, Irvin, Claude, Melvin, Carroll, and Curtis; and one sister, Alice Noble.
Family visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Forest City Christian Church.
Burial: Forest City Cemetery.
