Kenneth David Plummer was born on July 14, 1934, to Charles and Mary Marie (Buckles) Plummer. He was raised in Forest City, Missouri. Kenneth graduated from the Forest City High School in 1952.

Kenneth began working for the Missouri Highway Department in 1952.

Reverend Ward married Kenneth to Mary Frances Hayzlett on December 28, 1952, in Oregon, Mo.

The young couple purchased the Forest City Café in 1962 from Frank and Myrtle Hixson. Kenneth and Mary renovated the apartment above Plummer's Café and resided there with their family until 1974. The relocated to their home at 607 Commercial Street in Forest City. They owned and operated Plummer's Café until 1979. They sold both the Plummer's Café building and adjoining building to Jack Kelly in 1981.

In 1972, Kenneth and Mary bought the Green Kitchen. They owned and operated this business through 1975. The sold the Green Kitchen to Wilbur Black.

Kenneth continued to work for the Missouri Highway Department until 1992. On June 2, 1992, Kenneth passed away at his home in Forest City after a heart attack.

Kenneth and Mary had five children. Kenneth Lee, Carla Beth (Edwin) Adams, Charles David, Ladeanna Rae (Thomas) Hays, and Allison Lynn (Loyd) Russell.
