Susie Isabelle Sutton died May 20, 2011 at John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Jackson County she had resided in Waynesville following her marriage to Grover Sutton in 1983. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bragg and Gency Buchanan; her first husband, Paul Greene, and her 2nd husband Grover Sutton; brothers, Wade Hampton and Coleman Buchanan; sister, Birdell; niece, Shelia Melton; and many other relatives and close friends. Bell worked in the public all of her life. She began at Bradley Packing Company and continued at Thriftee Discount, Eckerds and other retail stores. She loved people and was an encouragement to many. She ended the majority of her conversations with "I love you." She is survived by one sister, Ermalee Melton and brother-in-law, David Melton of Hoopers Creek, children, Gene Greene (Sharon) of Lake Lure, Sue Miller (Paul) of Greenup, Kentucky, Bob Green (Finley) of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Paula Gaddis of Asheville, N.C. She was beloved Nana to Markie Madden (Allen), Traci Bishop (Marty), Alex Greene (Crystal), Shannon Whitmire (Chris), Melonie Brown (Jason), Amy Gaddis, and Chris Gaddis. Great grandchildren include Rowan Gaddis, Reagan and Ryan Brown, Alyson, Wes and Luke Whitmire, Dylan and Josh Bishop, James and Jordan Madden, Whitney Greene and Jacob Housewright. Bell is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and a host of friends across the USA. A private memorial service was held at noon on May 21st at Bell's home. This was at her request. Immediate family and close friends participated in a remembrance of her life. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Rev. Ray and Bobbie McCall for 60 years of loving friendship and support. Special gratitude also to Avalou Buchanan, CarePartners Home Health, Hospice and Solace Center.
