With deepest sorrow, we announce that Adrian Gomez age 35 our beloved son, brother, father, cousin, nephew, uncle and friend has passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019.

Adrian was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, the son of Lourdes Hernandez and Adrian Gomez. As a child, Adrian was healthy loving and joyful. His favorite food was the hot dog and would cry when there was no more in the fridge. One of his favorite things to do was collect and play Hot Wheels with his little sister Isabel and cousins. Even though his parents divorced at a young age, Adrian was raised with unconditional love from both parents, siblings and extended family members. The Hernandez family is a very large family and he was raised with constant family functions, huge holiday celebrations and road trips up to Mexicali where the other half of the Hernandez family lives. Adrian loved going to Mexicali and visiting his grandmother, cousins, uncles and aunts.

As a teenager he loved playing and watching basketball, his favorite team were the LA Lakers and you could find Adrian and his dad playing basketball at the Paxton park on any given evening. His father was a holy man and church was a huge part of Adrian’s childhood and youth. Adrian served in mass occasionally and attended several church retreats to grow his spiritual life. Through the church and his father, Adrian at 16 years old was able to travel to Europe for a period of two weeks where he visited Paris, France, Italy, Rome and many other countries.

His family remembers picking him up from the airport and him being almost in tears because he missed his mom. Adrian expressed to his mother that the trip was one of the best experiences of his life thus far and that he felt a great peace within him.

At 19 years old Adrian had his first son (Adrian A. Gomez, Jr,). 6 months later Adrian lost his father to a car accident and his life completely changed. He had a very hard to time coping with his death and did the best he could moving on with his life while battling depression. Adrian went on to have more children and always aspired to be the best father and family man he could.

One of Adrian’s best qualities was his ability to work hard. He knew he was a good and hard worker and felt proud and confident of that ability.

Adrian eventually became a truck driver. He worked for many different companies and gained a many good friends a long the way. These were people that were with him day in and day out and saw his heart. As an adult his favorite thing to do was to cook for others (Pizza, Ceviche, Tacos) listen to music and have a drink with friends and family.

Those who knew Adrian, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Adrian will be missed every day by his mother Lourdes Hernandez, his sister Maria Isabel, his two bothers Brian Ochoa and Sebastian Ochoa, his beautiful children, his loving uncles and cousins and many many great friends.

May we continue on with our lives and have peace in our hearts because he is free now and resting in heaven with the Lord along side his two favorite people in this world, his deceased father Adrian Gomez and his deceased grandmother Sofia Mendoza. Truly, we know he is resting and in perfect company.
