Agnes Margrethe Henriksen passed away on March 20, 2004, at the age of 80, with family by her side. Agnes was born to Hans and Margrethe Davidsen at home on Sandy Prairie Road, Fortuna, on September 7, 1923. She graduated from Ferndale High in 1942. In December of 1945, Agnes married Clyde E. Henriksen. Her occupations included working at Loleta Creamery, housekeeping, and she and Clyde owned and operated a chicken ranch that supplied local restaurants. She later worked as a roofer and bookkeeper at the family roofing business.

She was an accomplished flower gardener and innovative craftswoman. She was devoted to helping others and enjoyed doing volunteer work.

She is survived by her family whom she cherished deeply. Her son, Wayne; daughter, Eloise Henry; grandchildren, Rodney Henry and wife Char, Jeffrey Henry and wife Gen, Julene Saunders and husband Mike, and Monte Henry and wife Nicole; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brandon, Hannah and Avary Henry, Riley, Reagan and Evan Saunders; siblings Carla Coleman, Howard Davidsen, Kaye Woods; cousin, Beverly Bradford; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2004, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Goble’s Mortuary in Fortuna.

There will be a graveside service at Ocean View Cemetery on Friday, March 26, 2004, at 10:00 a.m, with Ken Johnson officiating, followed by a potluck gathering, to celebrate her life, held at the Turf Club at Ferndale Fairgrounds.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Humboldt at 2010 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, CA 95501, or the American Cancer Society at 2942 ‘F’ Street, Eureka, CA 95501, or to your favorite charity.
