Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Laura was born April 22, 1926, on the family farm in Pomeroy, Iowa, to Fred and Lena (Loots) Heide. She attended rural elementary school, Pomeroy High School, and Iowa Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught elementary school in Des Moines, Manson and Fort Dodge Schools. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Andrews on June 24, 1951, in Pomeroy, Iowa. Bob and Laura lived most all their married life in Fort Dodge. Laura was an active member at the Trinity United Methodist Church where she enjoyed her quilting group, Circle, and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, Iowa State athletics, and loved spending time with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She and Bob often spent their winter time in Florida and Arizona. Laura moved to Columbus in 2013 to be closer to her family.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lynne (John) Curry of Columbus, Nebraska; granddaughter, Carolyn Heide (Reginald) Bosn of Lincoln, Nebraska, grandson, Tyler Andrew Curry of Omaha, Nebraska and granddaughter, Heather Elizabeth Curry of Kansas City, Missouri; great grandchildren, Heide Lynne Bosn, John Reginald Bosn, Elizabeth Kaylene Bosn, and Zoe Hope Bosn all of Lincoln, Nebraska; her brother, Louis (Vera) Heide of Pomeroy, Iowa and her sister-in-law, Jean Croft of Okoboji, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and their families
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Lee, son Dennis Dee Andrews, grandson John Robert “J.R.” Curry, and her sister Helen Everson.
Laura asked that Memorials be directed to either Trinity United Methodist Church, or Operation Christmas, both in Fort Dodge.
