Nora Ella Hake was the daughter of George Washington Hake and Margaret Christians Hake. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Hake Jr. and Caroline Hobbler Hake. Her maternal grandparents were William Christians and Barbara Kispert Christians.

She first married William F. Gabriel, on 8 November 1905, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Manning Gabriel and Ella Tomlin Gabriel. William was born on 8 March 1882, in Ohio. In 1910, William and Nora were living in Johnson Creek, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. In 1918, William and Nora were living in Dayton, Ohio. William was employed by the Dayton Metal Products.

Nora then married Charles W. Marrs. Charles was born in about 1879, in Nebraska. He was the son of James B. and Eliza R. Marrs.

In 1934, Charles and Nora were living at 14179 South Cypress Avenue, in Inglewood, California. Charles Marrs was a bookkeeper for the railroad. He later become a barber and Nora raised chickens.
