(1940-2020)
Earl Wayne Price, 79, most recently of China Grove, NC, and formerly of Catlettsburg and Ashland, KY, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Brian Center Nursing/Rehabilitation, Concord, NC, and entered into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ following a period of declining health.
Earl Wayne was born June 3, 1940, in Carter County, KY, to Earl and Shirley Johnson Price, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Omar Price.
In 1958, he married Erma Faye “Bunnie” Mays, and during their marriage they welcomed four children into the world, but sadly lost son, Michael, when he was a baby. Bunnie preceded him in death after 37 years of marriage.
Earl Wayne worked as a truck driver most of his adult life and retired from Ferrell Gas Company after 35 years of service. He loved the Lord, and enjoyed sharing the good news of the Gospel whenever he could. Earl Wayne delighted in spending time with his family and was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In 1997, he married Myrtle Waugh Campbell Ralph, and enjoyed traveling with The Waugh Family as they sang at churches near and far. Earl ran the sound system for them for several years until his declining health prevented him from doing so. Myrtle preceded him in death after 11 years of marriage.
Earl Wayne had attended the Soldier Church of God, Soldier, KY; Hoodscreek FWB Church, Ashland, KY; England Hill FWB Church, Catlettsburg, KY; and was a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church, Ashland, KY. Most recently he attended Grace City Church in China Grove, NC.
Earl Wayne is mourned and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sisters: Jean Thomas and Evalene Thomas, both of Mansfield, OH; Children: Anita (Kelly) Thacker of China Grove, NC; Teresa (Don) Lunsford of Point Pleasant, WV; Chuck (Janet) Price of Rock Hill, SC; five Grandchildren; and five Great-Grandchildren;
Step-Daughters: Becky Quick of Perris, CA; Nancy Campbell and Candy Gelinas, both of Catlettsburg, KY; Stephanie Ralph of Ashland, KY; nine Step-Grandchildren; ten Step-Great-Grandchildren; as well as many other extended family members.
There was no visitation or services due to the COVID19 pandemic safety precautions.
Burial was Thursday, March 26, 2020, in Bowen Chapel Cemetery with Clifford “Tippy” Price and Gayle Price officiating with a private graveside prayer
