PERSIAN GULF
Daniel George Shea, 63, died Monday, August 12, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA he was son to Charles A. Shea (Philadelphia, PA) and Jean P. (MacMillan) Shea (Portland, ME).
To know Dan was to love an artist’s soul, a patriot’s spirit and a music man. He fell in love with the guitar at an early age and rarely was it far from reach. Music was his passion. He was a lover of the humanities, a quick wit and wonderful teacher. Conversations were lively.
Dan enlisted in the US Navy in 1976. He served his country for 20 years and was honorably discharged as a Veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
Before moving to and retiring in Jacksonville, Dan was married to Maria (Lima) Shea (Philadelphia, PA). He is survived by their loving daughter, Tracy L. Shea (New York, NY), his two sisters, Elizabeth (Joseph) Coleman of Conshohocken, PA, Rose Marie Seekamp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, two brothers, Charles (Grace) Shea of Levittown, PA, Dennis (Nancy) Shea of Media, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former spouse of 23 years Sandra (Brown) Shea (Holmes Beach, FL).
A Military Interment Service will be held Wednesday, October 2 at 10:30 A.M. in The Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, FL 32218. Family, friends and servicemen are invited to attend. Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home
