Adam Dugdale was a Liverpool Cotton Broker. He was a trustee of St. John the Evangelist Church and laid the foundation stone in 1834. His main residence was a mansion named Dove-cot House, which stood on what is now, Dovecot Park. He also owned Portland Villa in Wavertree.
