The death of Dr. DOW is announced as having taken place at Fredericton (York Co.) yesterday, It was not unexpected as Dr. Dow has been an invalid for some years. The deceased gentleman had been a resident of Fredericton for at least 35 years and has been in the Province a much longer period. He came from the U.S., his early home being in Vermont. He practiced as a physician for many years. At the general election of 1862 he was sent to the Local Legislature. he held the seat until 1870 when he was defeated, but he helped in the meantime to carry Confederation. At the general election of 1874 he was again returned but was defeated in 1878.
