She is survived by her husband, a daughter and her husband, two step-grandchildren and their children, and two sisters.
Her parents, Michael and Catharina Refchuk, sister Vicky Brownstein, brothers Rudolph and Ben Refchuk predeceased her.
Mom and Dad met in 1950 and shortly thereafter they married and had a daughter. Mom had lived in Winnipeg all her life. She never cared for traveling but took pleasure in taking trips with Dad to the cottage to enjoy the birds and chipmunks. Mom was also fond of going to the Casino with her daughter and son-in-law.
She enjoyed cooking, her specialty was holubchi and perogies. Mom loved gardening and took pride in caring for her begonias on Toronto Street. After living on Toronto Street for over 40 years, Mom and Dad decided to move next to their family in East Kildonan.
Private family service will be held on Monday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stephanie's Memory to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
