Jones, Herbert L. Jr (Herb) died March 28, 2006. He was born September 19, 1921 to Herbert L and Myrtle Wood Jones on a small farm outside Stratford, Oklahoma. Herb and family moved to Oklahoma City in 1924 where he grew up and attended Capitol Hill High School, Blackwood Davis Business College and Oklahoma City College of Law. He also attended St Norbert College of Engineering in West Dupere, Wisconsin. During World War II he was stationed in the South and Centeral Pacific with the US Army. In 1956 he married Betty Darby Boswell and her two small sons.
Herb was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, brother Norman, his sister Norma, his son Chris, and grandson Dustyn. He is survived by son Steve Boswell and wife Caryn, daughter-in-law Kathy Boswell, grandson Kye and wife Lestee, grandson Steve Boswell and wife Wendy, granddaughter Christy Schuster and husband Brandon, granddaughter Willow. Great granddaughters Darby, Drew, and Cameron, great grandson Gage, sister Mabel, brother-in-law Duie Jernigan, and many nephews, neices and other family.
Herb retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1980 and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2:00pm Friday March 31, 2006 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with internment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
