Mrs. Willis was born in Benson, North Carolina to the late Ashley and Bessie Grant, and later resided in Morehead City, North Carolina.
She was the past president of the Norfolk Doll Club and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
A dedicated Wife, Mother and Nanny, Irma was a Doll Artist and Bingo Queen! She used her creative talents making dolls and gifts for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Adrian Darcy Willis Jr.; her son, Adrian Willis III and wife, Betty, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Jackie Pegram and husband, Ron, of Mooresville, North Carolina; sister, Evelyn Willis of Morehead City, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Paige Bohenstiel McGee, Amy Willis Ausbun, Pat Bohenstiel, Lori Willis; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Wednesday, February 11, 1998 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Carroll Hurley. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Tuesday evening, February 10, 1998 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
