CHILDRESS, James E. – 65, passed away Sunday at 6 a.m., Fort Sanders Presbyterian Hospital, Residence, 5304 Sallee Lane. He was a member and deacon of Central Baptist Church, veteran of World War I, member of DAV, and had been an employee of the Post Office Department for 27 years. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Mary Mynatt Childress; daughters, Mrs. John Baugh, Knoxville; Mrs. L.E. Hines and Mrs. Gordon Causey, Atlanta; son, J.B. Childress, Knoxville; step-daughter, Mrs. Marie Robbins, Memphis; sister, Mrs. Nettie Henderson, Washington D.C.; 17 grandchildren. Services Rose chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dr. Charles Bond officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be presented to Knox County Baptist Association for the Baptist Youth Camp. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Monday Rose Mortuary.
