Jackie loved the word of God. Her favorite verse in the Bible was Proverbs 3:5-6.
Jackie was born on July 14, 1925 in Mobile, Al., to Rollin Otis Stone, Sr. and Lula Williams Stone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, Claude Franklin Smith, her only brother, R.O. Stone, Jr., sister in-law, Angie Cooley Stone and son in-law, Brian Clure.
Mrs. Smith was survived by her three adoring children, daughters, Claudia Smith Powers (Don), Kendra Smith Clure, son, Scott Smith (Robin), five grandchildren, Callie Smith, Caleb Smith, Brianne Clure, Gentry Clure, Adalynn Powers and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class. Jackie was solid in her faith and a prayer warrior to her family and friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel. Officiating will be Mrs. Smith’s three nephews, Reverend Rick Stone, Huntsville, Al., Reverend Randy Stone, Gainesville, Fl., and Reverend Rodney Stone, Marietta, Ga.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Caleb Smith, Gentry Clure, Tony Smith, Lance Smith, Stephen Clonts and Tom Yates serving as pallbearers.
