'Taken from The Colchester Independent, McDonough county.'
"John Sweeney Jr., an unmarried man 24 years old, [was found dead on] the farm of Olum Ebelsizer, in Blandinsville township, three miles southeast of the town of Blandinsville. The body was not discovered until Tuesday forenoon."
"John Sweeney worked for John Williamson, a farmer in the vicinity. Last Sunday afternoon, he attended Sunday school at the Willow Grove church."
"Deceased was the son of John Sweeney, who lives in the Guy neighborhood, Emmett township. The remains were interred in the Walker graveyard, on Spring street."
