Jim Elliott, 74, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2019 at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon, SD. Visitation: 12:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home in Brandon, where the family greeted friends until the time of service.
Jim Elliott was born to A.B. and Martha Elliott on July 12, 1944, in Sioux Falls SD. He attended Valley Springs public school where he was a member of the last class to graduate from Valley Springs high school in 1962. As an employee of Sutherland Lumber in Sioux Falls, Jim began a lifelong career in the building supply business.
On October 2, 1963, he married Linda Olson. Jim and Linda became parents of Jill, Keith and Steve. Company transfers took the family to Salt Lake City, Utah, Colorado Springs, CO and Liberty, MO. In 1981 he became part of creating a drywall supply company, Tamarack Materials, in Bloomington MN. The company was a source of accomplishment and pride. Jim enjoyed every day at Tamarack until his retirement in 2007. Summers in Sioux Falls and a lake home in Wisconsin with family and winters in AZ with friends have been priceless.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Linda Elliott of Sioux Falls; daughter, Jill Kiefer and her husband, Rob of Valley Springs, SD; son, Keith Elliott and his wife, Kim of Sioux Falls; son, Steve Elliott and his wife, Kim of Duluth, MN; eleven grandchildren, Brittany Gerovac and her husband, Corey, David Kiefer and his wife, Sara, Luke Elliott, Jack Elliott, Sam Elliott, Angela Elliott, Tony Elliott, Matt Nguyen, Cassie (Alek) Dombrock, Mike Vo, Dylan Nguyen; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Beck, Mason Beck, Tucker Kiefer, Lincoln Kiefer and Mya Kiefer; sister, Faith Anderson of San Diego, CA; brother, Jan Elliott of Dawson City, Yukon, Canada; and a host of relatives and friends.
