Ida was united in marriage to James B. Estes on May 14, 1947 and two children were born to this union, Jerry and Wanda. She later married James Sweet on November 7, 1977.
Ida grew up in the Mountain View area where she farmed milking cows and raising hogs for several years. As the children grew older she took a job at Angelica in Mountain View where she worked as long as her health permitted. She attended the Oakside Community Church for several years.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making and buying quilts as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Alva Bird; husband, James Sweet; brothers, Alvin and William Bird; sister-in-law, Sue Bird and a great-granddaughter, Brooke.
She is survived by her children, Jerry and his wife Jeanie Estes of Summersville, Missouri; Wanda and her husband Donnie Martin of Sparta, Missouri; four granchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patsy Bird of Mountain View, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews.
