William A. "Willie" Bird the son of Archie Bird and Alva (Roark) Bird was born February 3, 1941, at Arroll, MO, and passed away at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, MO on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, making his age 65 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

Willie was united in marriage to Patsy King, October 21, 1961, making their union together 45 years.

To their union three children were born- Teresa, Buddy, and Sharon.

Willie was a member of the First Christian Church of Summersville and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Willie was an avid deer hunter and he liked going to the mountains elk hunting in Colorado.

He treasured the hours spent watching hunting movies with his family and talking about his own hunting adventures.

He also enjoyed baling hay with his wife always at his side. Willie was a generous man who always enjoyed a hug from his family and his many special friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents Archie and Alva Bird and daughter-in-law, Christina Bird.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Bird; daughter, Teresa Thomure, and husband, Jeff; son, Buddy Bird, and wife, Pam; daughter, Sharon Patton, and husband, Kevin; sister, Ida Mae Sweet; brother, Alvin Bird and wife Sue; brother-in-law Ronnie King and wife Carol; 7 grandchildren- Amanda Michel and husband, Scott; Ashley Beavers and husband, Charlie; Heather Cooper and husband, Nathan; Justin Bird and wife, Courtney; Amelia Bird; Cory Patton; Marisa Patton; and 3 great-grandchildren- Isaac and Dawson Beavers; Hailey Michel; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. Willie will be sadly missed by those who knew him.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:00 Am at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with Rev. Paul Hamm officiating.

Interment was in Oakside Cemetery.
