Ronald W. "Butch" Messmann, age 70, a former Mishicot resident, died peacefully Thursday evening, January 2, 2014, at the Country Side Manor East Assisted Living Facility in Sheboygan, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Ron was born August 22, 1943, in Two Rivers, son of the late Warren and Caroline Ploeckelman Messmann. He graduated from the West Division High School in Milwaukee with the class of 1961. Ron served with the U.S. Army Reserves in Milwaukee. He was employed as an electrician for the Parker Hannifin Corp. for 26 years, until his retirement in 2005. Ron took great pride in his car's and loved to show them at car shows.

He is survived by one daughter, Christine (Randy) Ringmeier, of Two Rivers; four grandchildren, Dominique Schnell, Aaron Schnell, Brandon Ringmeier, Megan Ringmeier. He is further survived by his special friend and former wife, Darlene Messmann, of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Messmann, of Two Rivers; 2 nieces: Brandi and Jamie, one nephew: Jeff, and by many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Messmann, and two sisters, Charlotte Brouchoud, and Sharon Hagenow.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot, with the Reverend John Becker officiating, with burial to follow in the Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Ron's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff of Country Side Manor East, and to Hospice Advantage for the love, and special care extended to Ron this past year. Your kindness will always be remembered.
