David L. Chase, age 76, of Needham Street in Perry, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019. Born in Warsaw on February 5th, 1943, the son of the late George R. and Dorothy Chase Newton. David served in the United States Army, the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves over a 13 year period. David worked at various local farms and as a security guard before retiring in 1985. He enjoyed television and assembling plastic and die cast model cars and trucks. Dave also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and liked to help others maintaining their lawns and gardens. Dave was known as a regular at the old J and C's Luncheonette in Perry.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Melvin Newton; his sisters, Alice Kemp, Gladys Chase; a brother, George R. Chase Jr.; a son, David L. Chase Jr.; and a daughter, Jamie R. Chase.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Beth L. Morrow Chase, whom he married on March 20th, 1980; his daughters, Theresa Chase of Perry, Michelle (Bill) Bidell of Gainesville, New York, Joette (Jeremy Smith ) Chase of Perry, Dorene (Mark D. ) Hadfield of Warsaw; his sons, Michael Bongiovanni of Pike, Steven (Michele Sirido) Chase of Orchard Park, Scott Chase of Jamestown, David L. (Katherine Silsby) Chase II of Perry; his step-daughters, Yvonne Dickes and Cheryl Figoura both of Perry; 7 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends of David L. Chase Sr. may call on Thursday, September 12th, 2019, from 3-4pm, at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 North Main Street Warsaw followed by a funeral service conducted by Pastor Eric Kelly of the First Congregational Church of Perry Center at 4pm, followed by full military honors. Burial will be private in the Warsaw Cemetery.
