Husband of Helen Marr Ellis.
Elder C.H. Atkinson of South Bountiful died last Friday night at Billings, Montana, where he was laboring as a missionary. The immediate cause of his death was an abscess on the lungs, but he had been sick a few weeks prior to his demise with pneumonia but appeared to have almost fully recovered from it when the end came.
The remains arrived at Woods Cross Sunday evening and the funeral services were held in the South Bountiful meeting house, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Apostle Cowley, Elder Joseph E. Taylor, Pres Bramwell of the northwestern states' mission and Elder Durrant, Elder Atkinson's traveling companion; President Baxter of the Woodruff stake, Bishop McKinna of Woodruff and Bishop Egan made consoling remarks at the funeral.
The attendance at the funeral was very large, the meeting house hardly being large enough to accomodate all who turned out to show their last respects. Upwards of sixty vehicles followed the remains to their final resting place in the Bountiful cemetery.
The floral offerings were numerous and pretty.
Deceased was about thirty-four years old and leaves a wife and three children.
Elder Atkinson left on his mission last October.
