He was a descendant of John Lewis of Ireland and his wife, Margaret Lynn, who settled in the Shenandoah Valley about 1732 through their daughter, Margaret Lewis, who married William Long.

Robert Lee Hindman
Robert Lee Hindman, 92, of Paris died Wednesday, November 27, 2002, at Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Grave side services are set for 3PM Sunday, December 1, in Tigertown Cemetery with the Rev. Othoe Stegall officiating. Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Saturday at the funeral home. He was born September 7, 1910, in the Forest Hill Community, the son of Robert Oscar and Minnie Long Hindman. He married Margie Irene Briggs June 14, 1930. She preceded him in death on March 7, 1998. He was a fuel distributor for Beard Oil Company and was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include a son and daughter of Paris, four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
