Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. Nathan “Smiley” Anderson, Jr., 83, who entered eternal rest, Friday, August 30, 2019 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Guidry Anderson of Opelousas, LA; seven children, Tyrone Anderson (Kathleen) of Plaisance, LA, Sona Anderson of San Diego, CA, Joel K. Anderson of Opelousas, LA, Bethele Anderson Reed (Allen) of Opelousas, LA, Demetrice Moore (James) of San Diego, CA, Shane Anderson of Opelousas, LA and Wynsloe Anderson of Opelousas, LA; a sister, Coretha Paillet of Port Arthur, TX; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Patrick Anderson, III and Timothy Marcus Anderson; his parents, Nathan Anderson, Sr. and Ophelia Anderson; siblings, Wilbert Anderson, Russell Anderson, Duval Anderson, Dalfred Anderson, Midas Anderson, Genevieve Pickney, Willie Mae Fruge, Velma Washington, Evanola Forbes, Vester Thibodeaux, Priscilla Evans, Thelma Kelly and Audrey Mae Lazard; a daughter-in-law, Yolanda Anderson and a granddaughter, Gabrielle D. Zenon.
Visiting hours will be observed from 6:00 AM to 9:45 AM Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home.
